In Philadelphia, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Pennsylvania, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 amβ11:30 pm. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very good ice cream and tons of interesting flavors to choose from, best to try a bunch (free spoon samples) and then pick.

We are from Columbus, OH so are major Jeniβs fans and believe Jeniβs is a place that prides itself on excellent products and customer service. But our experience at the Rittenhouse location tonight was terrible. While the ice cream was, as usual, outstanding, the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived an hour before closing and were perfectly happy to wait in the line that went out the door. However, we were frustrated when we realized there were at least three employees present but only one actually serving customers. Faith, our excellent server, was upbeat and efficient but could not keep up with the growing line. As she waited on each customer (serving the role of greeter, scooper, AND checkout), two other employees blatantly ignored customers and continued to rudely move down their closing checklist activitiesβall an hour before closing and with a line of customers out the door. We waited almost 40 minutes to finally get our ice cream. Again, the ice cream is excellent but this location has lost my business. We regularly stay at the Motto down the street but will find a new spot for ice cream.

Food: 4/5. I love the unique flavors, and the amount of variety there is. They are all different and delicious in their own ways. My personal favorite is the brambleberry crisp! The only reason Iβd give it a 4 instead of a 5 for the store itself is that the ice cream shop is on the much pricier side, and their pints are the same price as their 2-3 scoop options. I now opt to buy them by the pint. Service: 5/5. Everyone here is always so upbeat and friendly. They let you try as many flavors as you want which is so nice, and they are so patient and quick as you try a bunch! Atmosphere: 5/5 It is very bright and vibey in here! There are standing counters you can eat at and it is overall nice. Highly recommend this spot if you are around the area! A unique and delicious ice cream shop, just keep in mind that it is on the pricier side.

I came here to enjoy the warm weather and decided to treat myself to a waffle cone with a scoop of Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake and Gooey Butter Cake. The server was incredibly helpful and patient while I decided on my flavors, and they were also very knowledgeable about the ingredients in each option. It made the experience even better.
